Sometimes the best outfits come together accidentally. By chance this tweed jacket and striped sweater were hanging next to each other in my closet. I was just beginning to think that I had nothing to wear when I spotted them. A pair of distressed denim, lilac studded boots, and a vintage purse later, the rest is history. This is the perfect combination of pulled together and comfortable for a rainy afternoon spent at the museum. I knew that I probably did too much outfit planning in my head, but now I know I’m doing it subconsciously as well.
Basically, spring and summer call for easy, comfortable clothing. I tend to avoid overly embellished and busy pieces, and try to stick to basics like jeans and a button down, in a similar color family, and some fun accessories. Tan perforated leather sandals are right on trend, but also manage to look timeless. They also go with pretty much all of my warm weather wardrobe. Win win.
My purple pants have proved to be more versatile than I ever could have imagined! Lilac is a feminine and romantic color, as well as one of my favorites. “This shade of purple suggests refinement, along with grace, elegance, and something special.” Maybe that’s the reason I find myself reaching for them no matter what the season. New goal: wear as much lilac as possible!
