I wanted to be comfy and sparkly this Christmas, and I would have to say mission accomplished. A striped sequined sweater and cotton candy colored cords were the perfect family holiday attire. It was a good thing I put some effort into my outfit because my family was some pretty steep competition, coming for dinner dressed to impress!
My brother Anthony and my cousin Stephan. Anthony is wearing American Eagle Button Down and Jeans. Stephan is wearing a Bass Sweater, J. Crew Shirt, Skinnyties.com Tie, Calvin Klein Jeans, Converse Sneakers, and Ray Ban Glasses.

This is what I wore on Christmas Eve. I usually wear a dress for the occasion, but I went with party pants and sky-high red heels instead. I felt both festive and “grown up” at the same time. However, my adult feeling was short-lived after my cousin told me my sweater reminded him of a muppet. I was thinking it had more of a shag carpet look, so I guess a muppet is better. And everyone likes muppets.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas with family and friends as much as I did! But, I’m about to get real honest, I’m excited to relax and dress down for a couple of days at home before I go back to work. And when I relax, I sometimes wear jeans and flannel. However, there is no reason to look sloppy while dressing down. Therefore, I layered a ruffled sweater over a graphic tee and wore my favorite studded loafers because they’re the closest pair of shoes I have to slippers. Being fashionable is all about being comfortable and I was really, really comfortable.
Duchess has been pretty naughty lately. The number of ornaments she’s destroyed is up to 5, and she has ingested at least two candy canes (plastic wrapper included). But she’s pretty cute though, so she got some presents instead of coal this year…

Happy Christmas Eve!!!
I’ve been home in Connecticut since Friday afternoon and I’ve been pretty busy with cooking, cleaning, errands, decorating, and relaxing. Getting ready for the holidays can be tiring, but that doesn’t mean I can’t look nice and festive, clothing wise, while I’m wearing bags under my eyes. I dressed up a simple t-shirt and jeans by wearing a gold studded sweater over my leather jacket, and topped it off with a sequined scarf. This outfit took me from decorating the family tree and baking some goodies, to visiting family members for dinner, all while keeping me in the holiday spirit!

The gloomy weather we’ve been having as of late, made for a perfect afternoon spent at the Museum of Fine Arts to see the Mario Testino exhibit In Your Face. Mario Testino has been a celebrity and fashion photographer for over 30 years, and his collection of pieces on display are spectacularly fascinating. I would highly recommend it and might try to head back myself before the exhibit closes on February 3rd.
I wanted to wear something that showed off my personality in both a creative and sophisticated way, so I settled on this patterned maxi skirt. I kept the rest of my outfit neutral and added my favorite boots. I wonder if Mario Testino would’ve like it.

One rainy day in Boston seemed as good a day as any to wear an embellished vest. To be quite honest, there were more opportunities to sparkle that way, when you consider all of the puddles. And everyone knows that when you dress up as an urban cowgirl, you must wear boots, but no one said they had to be a pair you would wear on a horse.
