Not Quite Burberry

Thrifted Trench, NYC Street Vendor Scarf, LOFT T-shirt and Earrings, J Brand Jeans, Forever XXI Purse, Cole Haan Sandals

I think that the photos below where Duchess is pretty much just a blur, represent her personality perfectly.  This dog is a wild woman.  The saying “opposites attract” comes to mind for this post because I’m dressed pretty conservatively, although I prefer the term classic.  Nothing’s more classic, in my opinion, than a tan trench coat. I added the leopard print scarf and red sandals to modernize it a little bit, and threw in the latest hair craze, the sock bun, for good measure.

Speaking of vegans (weren’t we), my friend Rhiannon recently converted, and she shares all of her healthy and delicious recipes on her blog “Eat Your Fruits and Veggies.”  She makes being a vegan look easy!

Gray Day

H+M Trench, LOFT Dress, DSW Boots, Thrifted Purse that I borrowed/stole from my Mom, H+M Earrings and Mint Bracelet, Gifted Elm City Jewlers Watch and Bangles, H+M Umbrella

I guess you could say that my outfit was really inspired by the weather on this particular day.  I got this dress at the LOFT a couple of weeks ago, on major clearance.  I thought  I would have to wait until the fall to wear it, but Boston proved me wrong weather wise and I didn’t mind one bit!  I added this pale pink crossbody bag to my look for just a hint of color.  I’m predicting that it’s going to be my new summer “it” bag.  Thanks Mom!

Malibu Society Top, LOFT Jeans, J.Crew Necklace, Shoedazzle Loafers

Hi friends!  The truth is, I’ve been thinking about starting a  blog for a while now as a personal style diary for myself, and for anyone else who’s interested in reading it.  These photos were taken awhile ago when we were still experiencing a June gloom in Boston, and I’ve finally worked up the courage to share them!

For my first style post I wanted to start off with something that I felt very comfortable in and something that was very me, i.e. skinny jeans, a cute top, and some fun accessories. I didn’t want to come across as trying too hard, and that little puppy Duchess on my lap serves as a great reminder for me to do just that because she always looks fabulous without trying at all!  However, in order to spice up my basic jeans and top just a little, I added a chunky statement necklace and some studded leopard loafers.

Thanks for checking in with Duchess and I, and I look forward to sharing more of my personal style with you! (I swear I’m not a totally crazy dog lady.)
